About Me
Hello, I'm Angel. With a background as a Director of Early Learning and expertise in infant development and curriculum implementation, I bring a deep educational foundation to my work. In my many years working with families, I was invited to be alongside several of them at the birth of their children. I was deeply honored each time. That was the "spark" that started me on the path to becoming a doula. Birth work has always been a deep passion for me, and I have always held my role in such a sacred and vulnerable space close to me.
Today
I am currently completing my Doctorate in Spiritual Counseling, which allows me to serve as "The Guru Doula". I chose this name because it reflects my role as both a teacher or guide (Guru) and a woman who serves (Doula). I am currently training as a Birth Doula (DONA) and Lactation Counselor (MiLC). I've done the deep work, so you don't have to, but I'm as down-to-earth as they come. I combine my background, experience, and education to align with one mission.

Why? Because I have experienced the journey you are currently on. Searching for support and not knowing where to begin. At times, I even thought I didn't need it. But when we choose to move towards motherhood, it is one of life's biggest transitions. I made it my mission to offer the highest level of expert care, rooted in compassion and lived experience. My goal is to give my heart, my time, and my expertise to the people who need it most. Whether you're seeking a Doula who honors the sacredness of every step of your perinatal journey to help you feel like yourself again, or an improved you, I'm in your corner. And I'm rooting for you.

I have made that transformative journey many times. Each one is unique in how, and I know the road of challenges and triumphs. I know how reassuring it feels to have someone ensure you're being taken care of. I also know the feeling of wishing you had it too. In my experience, instead of bringing me down, those feelings have lifted me. As a result, I have 4 beautiful blessings today. You and my family are the force that continues to push me!

"How does a Doula also do Spiritual Counseling and Nutrition?"
Think of me as a "whole-person" partner. I realized that birth isn't just physical—it's emotional and spiritual, too. And you can't have a healthy spirit if your body is running on empty. By blending Holistic Coaching with my Doula experience and Nutrition education, I can support you in the delivery room, in your kitchen, and in those deep "middle of the night" soul searches. It's all connected!
"What does 'SBNR' mean for our sessions?"
It stands for Spiritual But Not Religious. It means I'm here to support your spirit's journey without judgment or labels. Whether you're spiritual, questioning, or just looking for peace, my space is open to everyone. I'm a Spiritual Guide, but my only "doctrine" is helping you find your own inner strength.
Services Questions
"Do I have to book everything at once?"
Not at all! Many people start with Birth Doula services and then realize they want Lactation Support or Holistic Coaching later on. We can mix and match my services to fit exactly where you are in your life right now.
Why "The Guru Doula"?
A guru is a teacher or guide who helps lead individuals from darkness to light, whether that darkness is uncertainty, overwhelm, or a sense of being burdened. Light represents the known and a lifted feeling. I've spent years earning my degrees to be an expert guide for you, but I'm a Doula at heart. That means I'm right there in the trenches with you, offering hands-on support and a compassionate, listening ear every step of the way.
